Thank You for another successful and fun Rally

A Radio Amateur searching for that one component thats missing from his shack.

Who could have predicted that 13th July 2023 would be one of the hottest days of the year so far. Following rain in previous years this year we were treated to wall to wall sunshine and 30c temperatures.

Having relocated to a new venue in Warfield from our long established venue at the rugby club, there was a lot to set-up and prepare for rally day. The new site occupies almost the same area as our previous location, but required lots of marking out for Seller and Club Pitches and visitor parking.

We are really pleased to report that visitor attendance increased this year slightly and our dedicated and regular sellers remaining the same as last year.

On behalf of the McMichael Radio and Electronic Rally Organising Committee, we would like to thank everyone for their continued and valued support of the rally, especially following our move.

Something we will bear this in mind for future rallies is the condition of the ground surface in some areas of the field though.

Thank you to everyone that attended, especially given the rather warm conditions this year.

Bracknell ARC operating POTA for VE80 Day

Following our move to the new venue for the 2025 Rally, we will be operating a Special Event Station at the Rally using the McMichael Rally Callsign GB6MMR.

Conditions allowing, we hope to be on the 40m Band and will be operating an ICOM IC-7300 through an 88′ Doublet Antenna.

You can find GB6MMR operating from the Bracknell Amateur Radio Club (BARC) stand, from 9am so be sure to come by and say hello! We’re excited to make lots of contacts on 40m, so if you hear us, please give us a call!

We can’t wait to see you there and make some great QSOs!
